This was announced at an online meeting hosted by the Ministry of Health with 63 provinces and cities on Thursday. Localities are registering the amount of vaccines used from now until the end of the year with a total of more than 21 million doses, much lower than the number of people who have not been vaccinated.
In order to speed up vaccination progress, the Ministry requested communities coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to develop a plan to accelerate the rate injection for children aged 5 to under 12 years old in August and September, complete the booster shots for children aged 12 to 17 year olds before the start of the school year. Communities should also increase first booster shot coverage for adults to over 90%.
