VTV.vn - Vietnam will shorten the entire process of researching, producing, testing, carrying out clinical trials, and licencing so that a vaccine for COVID-19 can be available as soon as possible.

This announcement was made by the Ministry of Health at a conference in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Accordingly, all stages will be shortened to accelerate the vaccine research and production, but not before its quality and effectiveness and the safety of volunteers and future vaccine users can be guaranteed.

The Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC) just made a batch of products to be used in preclinical evaluation. A clinical trial on humans is expected to begin its first stage at the end of this year.

Another vaccine manufacturer, VABIOTECH, is running its second preclinical trial on mice. Vietnam expects to officially have a COVID-19 vaccine by October 2021.
