The competition was celebrated on July 29 in Hoi An town, the central province of Quang Nam. The contestants had to compete on a Victoria’s secret-inspired runway that was set above a swimming pool. They paraded their bikini bodies in two segments - creative designer swimsuits and in their bikini of choice.
Miss Haiti, Cassandre Joseph, placed first runner-up while Miss Kiev Ukraine, Havrylenko Olena, took the second-runner-up honours.
Before that, Miss Philippines Jyssy Jyn Almario won first place in the ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional long dress) competition while Miss Vietnam was in the top five.
On July 30, the contestants continued to participate in sideline activities such as talent competitions, charity work and exploring Quang Nam province and Da Nang city before moving to Thailand on August 1.
The next activities at the pageant, including traditional costumes, ball gowns and the crowning ceremony, will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from July 31 to August 8.
World Miss Tourism Ambassador is not only a beauty pageant but also a tourism forum and cultural exchange event. Through the pageant’s activities, the contestants will promote and inspire audiences about tourism in their own nations and the host country.
