VTV.vn - Vietnam Pepper Association and Ministry of Agriculture and rural development said it should be kept the old MRL for this product of 0.1 ppm like previous years.

80 per cent of Viet Nam's pepper exports are certain to face difficulties in entering the European market as the European Council (EC) had been petitioning to impose a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.05 parts per million (ppm). In response to this issue, Vietnam Pepper Association and Ministry of Agriculture and rural development said it should be kept the old MRL for this chemical of 0.1 ppm like previous years. Accordingly, the VPA said that the 0.1 ppm MRL in accordance with the research of European Food Safety Authority has no effect on consumers' health. Furthermore, pepper is one kind of spicy with very little amount in each meal.
