Vietnam’s coal exports down in ten months

VTV.vn - Vietnam exported 827,500 tons of coal during the first 10 months of this year to earn 83.4 million USD, down 45.94% in volume and 48.63% in value, according to the statistics from Vietnam Customs.

Coal was shipped to nine countries, principally to Asia, accounting for 90% of total export volume.

Japan led the pack for Vietnam’s coal imports with 421,600 tons at 40.7 million USD, making up 53%, trailed by the Philippines with 106,500 tons at 7 million USD and Malaysia with 83,000 tons at 10.6 million USD.

In the reviewed period, 78% of export markets saw declines while merely 22.2% enjoyed positive growth.

Coal exports to Laos dropped sharply by 95.58% in volume and 96.55% in value with 3,000 tons at 272,300 USD.
