The epic poem Truyen Kieu (The Tale of Kieu) by Nguyen Du is the most widely-recognised work of Vietnamese art. It has been translated into many foreign languages, and received 5 national records in 2012. The Vietnam Book of Records recently announced it has completed a request for a record from the Guinness Book of World Records for the Tale of Kieu. The poem was nominated as the work of poetry that holds the most national records. Over the last decade, 26 records have been given for the piece. The Vietnam Book of Records also plans to award 5 other national records for The Tale of Kieu, because this year marks the 250th birthday of its author Nguyen Du.
