Vietnam climbed eight places against 2019 to rank 52nd out of 117 economies in the 2021 index, which measures factors and policies that enable the sustainable and resilient development of tourism.
Vietnam also performed well in terms of price competitiveness, safety and security, air transport and port infrastructure as well as natural resources.
However, the country's lowest indicators were recorded in health and hygiene, tourist service infrastructure, prioritization of travel and tourism, and environmental sustainability.
