Vietnam receives international help in aircrew search
VTV.vn - Vietnam is currently receiving international support in search of the lost CASA 212 and SU30mk2 aircraft and 9 missing crew.

At a recent meeting with the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, an Airbus Group representative – the manufacturer of the CASA aircraft - said they would help decode the black box and investigate the cause of the accident.

Black-box detection equipment and technical experts have been deployed into the field. After the black box and debris are found, Airbus Group will handle the data, and reconstruct the incident under the supervision of the Ministry of Defence. According to Airbus, details about technical parameters of the CASA 212 aircraft will be openly discussed. Information sharing with the Vietnam side will be at the highest level, as well as support in terms of personnel, technical equipment and funds.

"We pledged to do our utmost to support Vietnam in the technical aspect to find out what really happened to the aircraft, as well as to search for the missing pilots." - Jean Michel Caldagues, Vice President, Airbus Group, Chief Representative in Vietnam, Lao, Cambodia & Myanmar.

"We have received orders and we are looking forward to co-operating as this would be of great value in the search. As for the cause of the accident, I think we can only start working on it after finding the missing pilots." - Lai Xuan Thanh, Director, Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Transport.

Tomorrow, the salvage of the object that is suspected to be the CASA 212 aircraft in 60 metre deep waters will be carried out with the help of divers and robots. All forces under the Ministry of Defence are trying their best to search for the 9 missing aircrew.
