VTV.vn - The Vietnamese Embassy in charge of Pakistan and Afghanistan is conducting citizen protection measures amidst escalating tensions in Afghanistan.

Regarding the situation of Vietnamese citizens in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday said that it has directed the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan to continue monitor the situation, urgently review and assess any developments to the situation of Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in Afghanistan, and be ready to take measures to protect citizens if necessary.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the past few days, the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan, along with Afghanistan, has actively deployed citizen protection measures, including posting a notice of citizen protection on the official website of the embassy and keeping updated on any developments to the situation of Vietnamese citizens in Afghanistan.

According to the Embassy, so far, there are no Vietnamese citizens in need of assistance in Afghanistan. Previously, on August 3, the embassy coordinated the safe repatriation of a Vietnamese citizen working for the United Nations in Afghanistan.
