Vietnam participates in Prague Christmas fair
VTV.vn - The 2016 Christmas Fair was held by the Diplomatic Spouses’ Association (DSA) in the Czech Republic on November 27 in Prague with the participation of embassies and representative offices from 40 countries and territories.

First Lady of the Czech Republic Ivana Zemanova and Spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Ngoc Tram, Head of the DSA, cut the ribbon to open the fair.

The nearly 50 booths at the fair feature a series of characteristic products from the participating countries, aiming to raise funds for the DSA.

Vietnam’s booths have Vietnamese products such as tea, coffee, traditional foods and traditional handicraft products on display.

At this year’s fair, the Czech Republic’s Skoda Auto brand presented EUR5,000 to the DSA fund.

Over the past ten years, the Vietnamese Embassy and businesses in the Czech Republic have been actively involved in the organisation of the fair to raise funds for the DSA. Vietnam’s booths have attracted a large number of visitors.

Past proceeds from the fair were distributed amongst 34 charitable organisations in the Czech Republic to help the elderly and children in difficult circumstances.

The fair is one of the biggest charitable activities in the Czech Republic. From 2000 to 2015, it contributed over US$ 3million to local charitable funds.
