The iHanoi app is changing how Hanoi residents interact with local authorities. It has received nearly 264,000 submissions of feedback, while linked data and digital maps are helping improve urban planning and management.
Trinh Tat Thang, director of the Data and AI Centre at the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, said: "Where data is available, we should put it use immediately. Each locality should adopt the approach that brings the greatest benefit to its residents."
Nationwide, VNeID is simplifying administrative procedures through a unified digital identity system. Eight of 12 key databases and 67 specialised databases have been synchronised, supporting data sharing and more efficient public administration.
Dr. Pham Van Khanh, chairman of the Scientific Council at the DigiX Institute of Research and Training, said: "Once data is accurate, complete and clean, and different systems are connected, it becomes easier to reuse. With strict procedures in place from the beginning, that new data can also remain clean."
Vietnam’s National Digital Architecture Framework aims to establish common standards and connect systems from central to local levels.
Tran Duy Ninh, director general of the National Digital Transformation Agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology, said: Local authorities must identify the shared components provided at the national level, those shared within each province, and the applications that can be deployed at commune level. This will help local officials and residents use digital services more effectively.
Connecting data and systems can improve efficiency. Digital transformation delivers real value when it saves people and businesses time, effort and money.
