Vietnam makes power savings

Many Vietnamese businesses expect to save money on power so they aren't forced to increase prices for consumers

VTV.vn - Vietnam has saved an estimated 6% of energy during the 2011-2015 period. This figure has been announced at the conference to review 5 years of implementing the law on saving energy held in the central city of Da Nang on Thursday.

During the last 5 years, several activities, including the wider use of energy-saving equipment, and Earth Hour have had an effect. As of the end of last year, more than 7,200 products were given energy-saving ratings by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Currently, Vietnam is estimated to have saved up to 7% of its energy. With this figure, by the end of this year, Vietnam is estimated to save to 4.94 million tonnes of oil and gas, worth more than 5.4 million USD.
