Vietnam maintain Southeast Asia reign in latest FIFA rankings
Vietnam remain world no. 102 in the latest FIFA rankings.
VTV.vn - Vietnam have defended their 102nd position in the world as the International Football Federation (FIFA) released its latest men’s rankings on September 20.

While not playing any international matches in the last month, Vietnam have maintained their total points of 1220 for the September standings, which kept the team at the top of Southeast Asia and 17th in terms of the Asian ladders.

The Philippines stand second in Southeast Asia with 1172 points (world no. 114), followed by Thailand with 1144 points (world no. 122) and Myanmar with 1092 points (world no. 138).

Iran still lead the Asian rankings with 1474 points (world no. 33), while world no. 54 Japan and world no. 55, the Republic of Korea, follow with 1398 and 1395 points, respectively.

Belgium join France on top of the FIFA rankings for September.
Belgium join France on top of the FIFA rankings for September.

Belgium join world champions France as the joint leaders in the FIFA rankings, marking the first time in the table’s 25-year history that the top spot is shared.

Roberto Martinez’s Belgium collected two wins, including their first in the UEFA Nations League over Iceland earlier this month, to bring them level with France on 1729 points.

France, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw by Germany in Munich in their Nations League opener before beating the Netherlands 2-1.

The only other change in the top 10 sees Denmark slip down to 10th spot, below Spain.
