The event aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and Korea's Liberation Day.
The exhibition displayed artworks by 264 Korean painters from the Korean Fine Arts Association in Gyeonggi Province and 5 Vietnamese painters. With the theme “The beauty of Korea and Vietnam”, the exhibition expressed the intimate relationship between the two countries and offers a better understanding of Korean and Vietnamese culture.
Choi Gil Soo, Chairman, Korean Fine Arts Association in Gyeonggi said: "This is the first time we have brought our artworks to exhibit in Vietnam and exchange with Vietnamese colleagues. I think this is a success, as we have a chance to learn from each other in both daily life and artistic process.
The artworks reflect life and the mindset of the Korean and Vietnamese people. The daily activities and beautiful landscapes of the two countries are the main themes of this exhibition.
"The exhibition is a highlight in the development of art exchange between Vietnam and Korea. Currently, the personal exchanges between our two countries have been significantly improved. Art exchange is very important to enhance friendly cooperation between the two countries. In the future, we will create favourable conditions to increase cultural exchange opportunities, " Park Sang Sik, Envoy, Embassy of Republic of Korea in Vietnam said.
The exhibition is expected to open more cooperative opportunities for Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. The event will run until September 8 at the Center for Photographic Art in Hanoi.
