Vietnam - Japan strategic partnership promoted

President Yamazaki Masaaki stressed the house was keen to promote the relationship with Vietnam and hoped to strengthen co-operation between the two parliaments, especially in legislation and co-ordination in regional and international forums. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that Vietnam regarded Japan as among its most important partners.

Also the same day, President Yamazaki Masaaki had discussions with President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Vietnam - Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman and Politburo member To Huy Rua.
