The event was attended by VPC Chairman Uong Chu Luu and President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen Phuong Nga along with representatives of the VBS, peace organisations, Buddhist monks, nuns and laypeople.
According to the VPC Chairman, the event is part of its peace education programme designed to raise awareness about peace and the culture of peace among the people, especially the younger generation.
He added that, the world has experienced many difficult moments in recent years and the peaceful environment is being challenged.
Within the framework of the programme, the VPC has worked with the VBS and some localities and universities to hold various activities about peace and established a number of peace clubs.
The VPC expected that this meaningful activity will help spread the values of peace and build a world without war.
