VTV.vn - The state utility EVN has announced that retail electricity prices are increasing by 4.8% to an average of 2,103 VND per kilowatt-hour starting from October 11, 2024.

The move followed a report by the Ministry of Industry and Trade that EVN’s power generation costs in 2023 rose by 2.79% to 2,088.9 VND per kilowatt-hour.

According to EVN, the impact of this latest electricity price hike on poor households and policy beneficiary families will be minimal.

Specifically, the price for the first 50 kilowatt-hours is 1,893 VND per kilowatt-hour.

For the 51-100 kilowatt-hour range, the price is 1,956 VND per kilowatt-hour, and the price for the 101-200 kilowatt-hour range is 2.271 VND per kilowatt-hour.

The respective tariffs for the fourth bracket (from 201 to 300 kilowatt-hours) and fifth bracket (from 301-400 kilowatt-hours) will be 2,860 VND and 3,197 VND per kilowatt-hour.

Any amount of power consumed above 400 kilowatt-hours will be charged 3.302 VND per kilowatt-hour.
