Chairing the committee’s 5th session on June 28, the Deputy PM called for the correct selection of topics to ensure host country’s good impression and ensure good preparations in logistics, security, health and communications.
More than 200 activities are expected to transpire during the year, creating opportunities for Vietnam to promote trade and investment with other APEC members as well as Vietnam’s multilateral diplomatic policy.
Minh also underscore the need for ministries and agencies, and localities to work more closely to ensure the progress and quality of the work across a variety of fields.
Established in November 1989, APEC consists of 21 economies, making up around 39% of the world’s population, 57% of total global GDP and 47% of international trade.
Vietnam engaged in the forum in 1998 and successfully hosted the 2006 APEC and the 6th APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting in 2014.
