Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam told VOV: “We will meet aquaculture businesses to discuss high-tech production to raise output and ensure food safety standards. We plan to enlarge the area of extensive shrimp farming to 600ha in the near future and will try to secure the quality and quantity of tra fingerling and expand domestic and foreign markets.”
Last year, the seafood sector raked in a record export revenue of 8.3 billion USD, securing it first place among Vietnam’s hard currency earners.
