At the meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Minh expressed his appreciation of European countries, who have had effective cooperations with Vietnam in ASEM. He also sought the countries' backing of Vietnam's candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council in 2020-2021 tenure, while affirming Vietnamese government's policy of respect for peace, cooperation, and development.
