Vietnam expects EVFTA to take effect

VTV.vn - In the framework of the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit, Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Phạm Bình Minh met with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Margot Wallstrom and Secretary of State of European Affairs Ana Paula Zacarias.
At the meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Minh expressed his appreciation of European countries, who have had effective cooperations with Vietnam in ASEM. He also sought the countries' backing of Vietnam's candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council in 2020-2021 tenure, while affirming Vietnamese government's policy of respect for peace, cooperation, and development.
