The task force has been formed following the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on implementing technological measures in coronavirus control efforts.
The task force will be headed by Deputy Director of the Authority of Information Technology Application Do Cong Anh and joined by Tran Dac Phu - advisor to the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre, among other experts.
Leaders of the technology firms BKAV and Viettel are also members of the task force, responsible for technological design and infrastructure to serve contact-tracing, health declaration, and quarantine monitoring services.
The centre will coordinate various agencies, organisations and enterprises in the technology-related tasks aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19.
It will also develop or receive new technological solutions, support the Ministry of Health with its professional activities using technology, and guide the roll-out of technological solutions for ministries, agencies and local authorities in fighting Covid-19.
Earlier, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications to decide on the mandatory use of some technologies in the efforts to fight Covid-19 .
