Vietnam conducts 1 million pcr tests of COVID-19

VTV.vn - The Vietnamese health ministry said it has conducted more than one million PCR tests since the COVID-19 pandemic first began in late January.

11,600 PCR tests were conducted on August 24th alone. In the first stage lasting 44 days, more than 3,000 PCR tests were processed. In the second phase lasting 47, more than 182,000 PCR tests were processed.

During the third phase, lasting 91 days, a total of 237,815 tests were processed. By 3pm Monday, Việt Nam had performed a total of more than 1 million tests using RT-PCR technique.

he number of COVID-19 tests performed within the past month alone reached the same as the amount carried out in the first six months of the pandemic.

The Ministry of Health requires that hospitals with existing equipment and capacity to test for SARS-CoV-2 by PCR method must soon deploy testing and participate in COVID-19 pandemic prevention. Provinces and cities that are not yet capable of RT-PCR testing will actively contact qualified units to send samples./.
