VTV.vn - The upcoming game between Vietnam and China in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers will admit 20,000 spectators to the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, or half of its capacity, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The fixture is slated for February 1.

The VFF has submitted its plans on holding the match to the Vietnam Sports Administration. However, a specific one depends on developments of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh said.

It will be the third straight game of Vietnam on their home field that allows spectators. Their previous matches against Japan and Saudi Arabia welcomed about 20,000 people each.

The Vietnamese squad will convene for a training session in Hanoi on January 13. Thirty players were called up by head coach Park Hang-seo to prepare for remaining games of the Asian qualifiers final round.

Vietnam are to play an away match with the hosts Australia on January 27.

They remained at the bottom of the group after losing all six matches. This is the first time that Vietnam has played in the final qualifying round. They are in Group B with Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, China and Oman.
