A senior delegation led by Cambodia Minister of State General Nieng Phat visited Hanoi on September 14 and was received by Minister of Defence General Phung Quang Thanh and Chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich.
At the meeting, the two generals exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest and reviewed the outcomes of military co-operation between Vietnam and Cambodia since 2014 in various fields, including staff training, security protection and the search for remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Cambodia during wars. Both sides also discussed co-operation plans for the second half of 2015 and beyond. For his part, General Nieng Phat expressed his hope to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral collaboration in all fields for the benefit of regional peace and stability.
