ADB pledges $1.2 bn annual loan for Vietnam

VTV.vn - The State Bank of Vietnam and Asian Development Bank (ADB) agreed to collaborate closely to efficiently utilise 1.2 billion USD in annual loans from the ADB for Vietnam from 2016 to 2018.

The news was made at a meeting between Vietnamese State Bank Governor Nguyen Van Binh and the newly-appointed ADB Country Director in Vietnam, Eric Sidgwick, in Hanoi on September 14.

The ADB representative spoke highly of the policies conducted by the Vietnamese government and the SBV in stabilising the macro-economy. He also pledged to further strengthen the ADB’s work in the country, including financial resources, policy consultancy and technical assistance.

Nguyen Van Binh said that the Vietnamese government and the SBV attached importance to developing comprehensive relations with the ADB. He expressed his hope that the ADB would continue providing policy consultancy, and technical assistance for Vietnam.
