Vietnam, Brunei step up defence co-operation

VTV.vn - The commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Pehin Tawih is now on an official visit to Vietnam on the invitation of Senior Lieutenant General Đo Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

This is part of Major General Pehin Tawih’s introductory visit around ASEAN after he took office. Senior Lieutenant General Đo Ba Ty and Major General Pehin Tawih discussed defence co-operation. Inrecent years, the relationship between Vietnam People’s Army and Royal Brunei Armed Forces has been bolstered through high-level exchanges, marine co-operation and training. 

Bilateral defence ties have made a small contribution to the establishment of the ASEAN Communitytowards the year’s end, especially in politics and security. After this meeting, Major General Pehin Tawih was received by Vietnam’s Minister of Defence, General Phung Quang Thanh.
