Vietnam, Australia foster joint medical research
VTV.vn - From 18th to 22nd of July, Australian medical experts visited Vietnam to share technical experience in several areas, including non-infectious diseases, stem cell research, new technologies in healthcare services and training.

This working visit is hoped to lay the foundation for further exchanges in medical research between Vietnam and Australia.

Australia has 43 universities and 50 medical research institutions that meet international standards. Each year, Australia spends about six billion USD on medical research. In late 2015, the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. Accordingly, the two sides will co-fund joint medical research in fields including tropical diseases, cancer, obesity and diabetes.
