It was reported that Bac Lieu has set up Election Committees at all levels, including 17 at the provincial level, 67 at district level and 521 at communal level.
The Bac Lieu Provincial Election Committee received nomination documents of 11 candidates for the 15th National Assembly election, and 93 candidates for the election of the provincial People’s Council in the 2021-2026 tenure.
Speaking at the working sessions, VP Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh underscored the importance of the upcoming general election as one of the major political events of the country this year.
She spoke highly of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau’s preparations for the elections, which have been implemented smoothly with good progress in line with relevant guidelines.
The VP also asked the two provinces to increase communications on the elections, which are slated for May 23, and reminded the province to prepare plans to ensure health and safety for voters amid the complicated COVID-19 developments.
