In China, clinical trials are being carried out on five new drugs, including anti-viral drugs and Chinese traditional medicines. China's National Medical Products Administration said there are also plans to create a COVID-19 drug.
In the United States, the University of Nebraska Medical Center is calling people who tested positive with the coronavirus to join clinical trials as soon as possible. The tests will be carried out on nearly 400 patients at fifty locations around the world within ten days.
Half of these patients will be tested with a new COVID-19 drug, while the rest will receive a placebo. This is also the first clinical trial in the U.S to evaluate the effectiveness of the COVID-19 drug.
