VTV.vn - Vietnamese mangos are granted permission to be exported to the US after 10 years of negotiations.

Mango is the 5th Vietnamese fruit to enter this market after lychee, longan, rambutan, star apple and dragon fruit. And the US also became the 40th export market of Vietnamese mangoes.

Every year, the United States has to import about 400,000 tons of fresh mangoes mainly from Central American and South American countries. US domestic mangoes are mostly grown in the states of Florida and Hawaii, besides a small quantity in California and Texas.

Currently, the volume of mango grown in the US is about 3,000 tons a year, equal to 1% of the annual import volume.
