At present, the storm is at level 8 of 18, however, it could reach levels 10 to 13 when it makes landfall.
Observation stations in Hong Kong (China) and Japan forecasted that the Damrey storm could top levels 11 to 14, posing severe weather threats. On Thursday, the storm will move up to 10 to 15km per hour and reach the southern central provinces on Saturday.
The storm will affect a vast area, from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan provinces from Friday.
Local authorities have urged locals to prepare for the storm, and recall vessels to shore as well as prepare for a mass evacuation if needed.
