University project to bolster ties between Vietnam and Japan

VTV.vn - Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Seko Hiroshige is on a working visit for the Vietnam - Japan University project in Ho Chi Minh city on last Sunday.

The Vietnamese State leader Truong Tan Sang hailed the significance of the project, which will give Vietnam direct access to Japan’s educational methods, as well as narrow the gap in scientific and technological standards between the two countries. Hiroshige told President Sang that his government is working hard to accelerate the project. Japan intends to send professors and experts to Vietnam in support of the project in June of this year, he added.

The Vietnam - Japan University project has a total investment of more than 300 million US dollars, sourced from Japan’s official development assistance and enterprises. Once completed, the institution will be a member of the Vietnam National University - Hanoi.
