Sustainable development is the main focus of Ly Son authorities. In recent years, annual production of seafood reaches 35-37 thousand tonnes, worth more than 250 billion VND (or about 12 million USD). Annual income of a fisherman ranges from 60 - 100 million VND (or 2,800 to 4,800 USD annually). The island has been connected to the national grid since 2014 which helps boost overall economic development and improves the people’s living standard. Development in the coming time is targeted to mainly rely on seafood, local traditional crops in addition to develop sustainable tourism and services.
