The 1/100,000-ratio map was handed to Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Hor Nam Hong by Acting President of the UN Library Mereani Vakasika on Thursday.
Upon studying the map, Cambodia’s coordinating committee revealed the news. According to the Cambodian deputy prime minister, the verification would help inspire confidence in the Cambodian government’s current work on border demarcation issues. Previously, a number of members of the Cambodia National Rescue Party had accused the Cambodian government of using a map that differed from the one preserved by the UN.
