The event showcased the different prototypes of its fleet of airborne taxis. The flying cars, which the company hopes to introduce to riders in 2 to 5 years, will take off from skyports located on rooftops or on the ground.
At first, the flying cars will be piloted, but the company is aiming for the aircraft to eventually fly autonomously. They'll fly 1,000 to 2,000 feet above ground, will be quieter than a helicopter, and produce half the noise of a moving truck. The company plans to roll out UberAIR in Los Angeles in 2023, but testing will begin in 2020.
