VTV.vn - Breast milk has been proved to be the best source of nutrition for infants.

According to a survey of 3,500 mothers nationwide by the Ministry of Health, only 63% of infants were breastfed during their stay in hospitals. In order to increase the breastfeeding rate, the Ministry of Health has implemented the Centers of Excellence (CoE) for Breastfeeding program in 9 cities and provinces nationwide. Recently, 2 hospitals were given the title of CoEs for Breastfeeding.

There are currently 28 hospitals that are implementing the model in Vietnam. The Ministry of Health will expand to other localities in the time to come in order to help enhance the health, and reduce the rate of malnutrition and morbidity of infants and babies.
