With Nhat Tan peach tree village, Tu Lien kumquat village are also preparing for Tet Holiday. Kumquats start to change its colour from green to yellow.
Not only having traditional kumquats, in recent 3 years, Tu Lien people also grow bonsai kumquat. Bonsai kumquat is quite small but its price is quite expensive. The bonsai kumquat is beautifully pruned which is suitable for small and pretty houses.
Tu Lien people said that kumquat in this year is more beautiful than the last year because of favourable climate, but its price will increase.
Kumquat garden of Mrs Minh Loan with over 500 trees starts to change its colour to yellow. She shared that she doesn’t afraid hot weather or cold weather, she is only afraid rain because heavy rain will rot its roots. Her garden only needs one more month to change to golden colour.
Pruning and shaping for kumquat trees will have to spend many times.

Bonsai kumquat is small but its price is higher than traditional kumquat. Normally, a bonsai kumquat is 1- 5 million dong. Although the price is quite high, even to over 10 million dong, many customers still want to pay for it.
A bonsai kumquat in the garden of Nguyen The Manh artist is grown during 10 years. The kumquat is hired with the price of 15 million dong. He don’t sell it.
In Tu Lien kumquat village, there are 10 families growing bonsai kumquat to server Tet holiday.
Mr Manh said that customers go to choose and book more early than the last year because the time between New Year holiday and Tet Holiday is not long.
