During his visit to the Party organ on June 21, Hue affirmed Nhan Dan as a leading news agency and commended its exceptional development over recent years.
He noted that in addition to its print editions, Nhan Dan has online editions in Vietnamese and five foreign languages, a television channel and a documentary studio.
The top legislator also praised Nhan Dan as a bridge connecting the National Assembly with voters throughout the country, as well as a channel for the law-making body to better understand the people’s wishes.
He said that through this bridge, the National Assembly’s activities are brought closer to the people while the people can effectively supervise the National Assembly and its members.
On the occasion, the National Assembly Chair asked Nhan Dan to focus their coverage on the reform of the legislature’s activities while affirming he will create favourable conditions for journalists to report on its activities.
For his part, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh stated that in its coverage of Vietnam’s socio-economic development, Nhan Dan always devotes a large portion to the National Assembly’s activities.
He stated that Nhan Dan will accurately report on the Party and State’s policies in an easy-to-understand manner for the people.
Minh added that regarding existing problems, Nhan Dan will report in a constructive spirit with the one goal of making the country better and helping readers fully and correctly understand the determination of the entire Party, people and armed forces.
