During discussions, Foreign Minister Minh highly valued the development of relations, and reiterated Vietnam will do its utmost to facilitate trade ties, and the signing of agreements on Double Taxation Avoidance as well as co-operation on maritime transport.
“Both sides agreed to boost co-operation on trade, especially economic maritime activities, which is in the interest of both countries. The two countries also agreed on the importance of the signing of Double Taxation Avoidance agreements, as well as other maritime agreements”, Pham Binh Minh said.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Kotzias praised the co-operation between the two countries, and expressed delight as the countries are about to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic ties.
Greece has advantages in terms of maritime transport and tourism, controlling 25% turnover of world's maritime transport, and attracting more than 20 million arrivals each year. Trade ties between Greece and Vietnam last year increased 3 fold compared to 2010, but are still modest in terms of their potential. Greece is welcoming to Vietnamese access to southern Europe and further relations with the EU..
