The meeting was organised during his visit to China to co-chair the 10th meeting of the China - Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Co-operation. During the talks, the deputy PM said the two ministries need to improve mechanisms for border and territorial issues in order to achieve better results and work together in maintaining peace and security in the East Sea.
Wang Yi shared his guest's recommendations on developing bilateral relations. He said the Chinese foreign ministry was willing to work with the Vietnamese to prepare for more high-ranking visits and enhance their comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership.
