In Thua Thien Hue province, the ecosystem status has deteriorated, with coastal erosion and diminishing coverage of seaside lagoons happening at the same time. Therefore, planting mangrove forest has been considered an effective solution, while helping ensure people’s livelihoods.
Thua Thien Hue province is well-known for its biological diversity. The province boasts Tam Giang lagoon – the biggest of its kind in South East Asia, besides a large area mangrove forests. Reforestation is considered a protective measure towards ecological balance and prevent natural disasters in the central region.
