The three victims were from Ha Giang, Yen Bai, and Son La. In Ha Giang, a whirlwind caused hundreds of houses to be unroofed and damaged more than 1,000 hectares of crops. Many roads were partially flooded and dozens of power poles and trees were broken.
In Lai Chau, hail also damaged around 800 houses and completely destroyed 20 houses. In addition, hundreds of poultry died.
