The importance of external defense

Reports by the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry recognized that in the past five years, external defense affairs have gained important achievements.

The sector has put in place bilateral and multilateral cooperation with many countries. Among these, the defense mechanism within ASEAN plays a key role.

The sector has also effectively participated in UN peacekeeping operations since 2014 and will continue to do so.

In the complicated global context, the sector will continue its efforts to contribute to the protection of the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace and stability.
