Thailand extends state of emergency

This one-month extension is the fifth since the initial order in March. The decision was made at a briefing by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration chaired by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Thailand has relaxed most of its restrictions on schools, public transport systems, and spectators at stadiums. Most entertainment facilities have been allowed to reopen while maintaining social distancing.

So far, Thailand has recorded 3,390 COVID-19 cases and 58 deaths.
