The last matchday of this year’s tournament took place at Lanh Binh Thang Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday evening, witnessing the 10-time champions successfully defend their fifth consecutive title with three matches in hand.
They had already secured the tittle after winning 9-1 against Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa on matchday 16, thus marking a great feat in Vietnam’s futsal history as the only team to have won the championship title 10 times in 13 seasons.
Coach Pham Minh Giang’s side also set a record this year as they maintained an unbeaten run for all 18 matchdays in the season, including 14 wins.
The official runner-up title belongs to Sahako FC after a convincing 6-1 win over Da Nang on matchday 17.
On the last day of the tournament, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa displayed a spectacular feat as they came from behind to beat Thai Son Bac 2-0, thus finishing in third place.
Hosted by the Vietnam Football Federation in collaboration with the Voice of Vietnam, the tournament featured over 100 matches, attracting more than 60,000 spectators to watch live, with hundreds of thousands others watching through the media, up 30% from the 2019 season, affirming the tournament's popularity within the community.
In addition to the championship title, Thai Son Nam’s No. 8 Nguyen Minh Tri also won the award for Most Valuable Player, while his teammate Ho Van Y was granted the Best Goalkeeper Award. The Top Scorer went to Phung Trong Luan, No. 17 player of Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa, while Thai Son Bac won the Fair Play Award.
