When Vietnam started negotiating free trade agreements with other trade partners, enterprises from the country showed higher interests and large-scale expansions.
The Thai-owned Srithai company entered came to Vietnam in 1996. At that time, they operated their first factory at the Sóng Thần Industrial Park in the southern province of Binh Duong. However, Srithai has developed since 2007, when Vietnam started its free trade agreements.
Thai small and medium-sized have also sought out business opportunities in Vietnam. They have been participating into the service supply chain, as well as focusing on importing and distributing Thai goods into the Vietnamese market.
The Thai Ministry of Trade has organised regular trade promotion activities every year. This paves the way for Thai businesses to come and establish their branches here in Vietnam.
Vietnam has once again proven an attractive market for regional and international trade partners, including Thai firms. This has encouraged Vietnamese enterprises to pay more attention not only to export activities but also the strong domestic market.
