Tet gifts reach policy beneficiaries and needy people

VTV.vn - Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong visited and present 120 gifts to the families of policy beneficiaries, poor households and schoolchildren in Suoi Giang and Nam Lanh communes in Van Chan District.

He applauded the socio-economic development achievements gained in 2019 by local authorities and the people of Yen Bai Province, and of Van Chan District in particular, especially their progresses in reducing poverty, fostering tourism, and building new rural areas.

He asked the local authorities to pay more attention to ensuring social welfare for policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and poor households so that everyone in the province can enjoy a happy and warm Tet holiday.

The same day, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh handed over 500 Tet gift packages, worth VND 500 million in total, to poor people from the Cham ethnic group in Ho Chi Minh City, which is the third biggest community in the city at around 8,000 people.

He also joined leaders of Long An Province to present nearly 1,000 gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes of People’s Armed Forces, and policy beneficiaries in Can Giuoc District.

In Quang Nam Province, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh paid a Tet visit to Nam Tra My District.

During his visit, Politburo member Chinh delivered 200 presents to local disadvantaged people and policy beneficiaries, stressing that the Party and State always attach great care to improving the living standards of the people.

Also yesterday, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visited needy households, Agent Orange/dioxin victims, and poor workers in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

The official along with representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Vietnam Red Cross Society, and local authorities presented gifts to 400 houses from disadvantaged backgrounds and social welfare policies.

Meanwhile, PCC Secretary and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man extended his New Year greetings while visiting Lac Duong District in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

He granted 150 gift packages worth VND1 million each to poor and near-poor households in the district.
