VTV.vn - On June 17-18, a tennis tournament hosted by the Vietnam Tennis Association took place in Russia (ViTAR) to strengthen the connection between Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Russia.

This is the 15th time that the tournament, known as ViTAR Open, has been held with the participation of 70 players from clubs across Russia.

ViTAR Chairman Phan Tuan Khanh said that this tournament is a gathering place for many generations of Vietnamese people in Russia, as well as the Vietnamese tennis circles in Europe and also Vietnam.

The tournament is also a place for young people to connect and learn more about Vietnamese culture, thereby joining hands to build a strong Vietnamese community in Russia.

According to the ViTAR chairman, due to the complicated political-economic situation in Russia and the world, many players from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine and Vietnam were absent from the tournament.

For his part, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Russia Do Xuan Hoang spoke highly of ViTAR’s contributions to creating a healthy playground, promoting exercise and sports, and connecting Vietnamese away from home.
