This is just part of a national plan in 2017 to revamp the telephone area codes of localities across the country. The ministry said its aim is to make all area codes uniformly three digits, meaning most landline numbers in the country will eventually be 11 digits. The second phase will start on April 15th and the entire project is expected to be completed by August.
